REDMINE – 7.x-1.0-beta3

Screen Shot 2012-12-11 at 12.26.11 PMWhy an update so soon, you may ask? Well, as the holiday season approaches, this will likely be the last time I will be able to devote development time to the project until 2013. So, what better time to make changes than right now.

In addition, a quirky issue came into my feed which prompted me to make changes and slightly alter the object workflow process. Because of that, I figured that submitting these changes should come quickly.

Beta 3

Introducing the Beta 3 release of REDMINE (Really Extendible Drupal Modular Interface for New-task Efforts).

Changes

  • Rules have been adjusted on the creation of a Task to automatically create, link, and publish an update, thereby preventing the issue of a task without an update.
  • The changes in the Rules schemas has also resulted in tweaking of Project-specific pages being tweaked, as projects with tasks with multiple updates were having those tasks still remain visible even after the task was set to complete. This was due to a faulty setting in the filters.

Goals

The best thing I found through this iteration of the project is that you really can create nodes and reference another node using Rules. Using the clunky interface better known as Entity Reference, the creation of a Task automatically generates an Update so that the task has a starting update object which to reference. As I hinted at in my initial release, I was worried that Rules would not allow me to create a node with little more than the basics. This was wrong.

  • Why it’s not on drupal.org ? :(

  • @NothingHere: Since it’s a Feature-generated object, I figured it would be best to initially keep it off Drupal.org until I felt comfortable with the progress of the project to transfer it to a more official location.

Since the last update, I’ve made a few changes in regards to workflows and displays as I’ve encountered bugs and edge-cases with the usage. I suppose your comment has given me a little extra drive to put on the finishing touches and get a new version out there.

    Thanks for the the message!
